Lucknow: In a joint operation, STF and Police Noida was shot dead wanted to criminal Ajay alias Kalia at a meeting on Wednesday.
Giving a cash prize of Rs 2 Lakh, Ajay was sought for cruel crimes such as rape and dakoity by police four districts above and Palwal in Haryana.
Police recover rifles, pistols, and cartridges made by the country’s ownership along with hammer and nails of various shapes and sizes.
ASP STF Kumar Mishra, who led the operation, said that the police received information that Ajay came to Sector-14, Noida, to carry out the reception to road passengers with Road Hold-Up on Wednesday.
“Traps were placed near Uttar Patti in Sector-20.
A member of the team identified and the police asked him to give up, but he opened fire.
The police team responded to where Ajay had a bullet injury.
He was taken to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead , “Mishra said.
Ajay operates a gang known as ‘axel gang’.
Members used to throw nails on the highway, browse the vehicle.
They then loot passengers and raped women.
The gang has looted a family of Rs 5,000 in Palwal and raped 14 years old on January 27, 2020.
It has robbed the family of Rs 10 Lakh in October 2019 in Tappal in Yamuna Expressway.
