Agra: One of the seven accused, involved in a sensational day robbery at the Manappuram Gold Finance Company Finance office in the Kamla Nagar Agra area on July 17, surrendered at the Police Station Kamla Nagar on Wednesday.
He told the police that he was a friend Nirdosh Singh, who was shot dead with Pandey Manish during the meeting.
The suspected robbery was shot dead with the police two hours after the crime occurred.
Inspector General of Police (IG) Naveen Arora said the suspect Prabhat Sharma surrendered at the police station Kamla Nagar and claimed to be a crime.
He told the police that he was a friend of Nirdosh Singh, who was shot dead with Manish Pandey during the meeting.
During interrogation, Sharma told the police that Pandey Manish and Narendra Lala had targeted Manappuram or Muthoot Finance Branch of Gold Loans, because they save gold and cash and have minimal security.
He revealed that they had done the recce of Manappuram’s Sector 34, Noida Branch but because of the crowd there they did not target it.
Later, they reserved Bhagwan Talkies and Kamla Nagar Branch and found the last to be an easier target.
They did a robbery after planning it for 25 days.
On the day of robbery, all seven gathered in a park opposite the branch.
Prabhat has reset it in the area and then gives a nod to others to enter the branch.
He revealed that five of them were armed with a gun.
While Prabhat stood outside the branch on the guard, the other crime in 20 minutes and escaped.
Sharma told the police that Manish and Nirdosh went together, the other escaped in the other direction.
When Sharma had to know about Nirdosh’s death at the meeting, he decided to give up before the police.
He also told the police that they had decided to distribute cash and gold in the city of Tunish Firozabad but after Manish and Nirdosh murder, nothing happened according to plan and he did not receive one cent.
He also confirmed to the police who looted cash and jewelry with Narendra.
Arora said that Sharma had given a strong clue about the existence of other suspects – Narendra Lala, Avnish Mishra, Santosh Jatav and Dhruv Yadav – and they would soon be arrested.
The suspects had looted 19 kg of gold and Rs 6 lakh cash from the branch.
ADG (Zona Agra) Rajeev Krishna has announced Rs 1 Lakh at Narendra’s arrest while SSP Muniraj G announced a prize of Rs 25,000 in the arrest of others.
