Bhubaneswar: The thief allegedly entered the house of a BJP leader here and was looted around RS 3 lakh cash, gold and silver ornaments and other valuables on Wednesday.
Dinabandhu Das alleged that his family members fell asleep when the thief glared at home in Bhatapada the police limit Mancheswar by opening the window.
Between 2am and 3am, he added.
“Everything is armed and hugged me with gunshops.
My wife suffered a head injury,” said Das.
The police said they were trying to identify thieves.
The incident was revealed amid the increasing crime in the capital this year compared to last year.
The case of theft increased from 1,684 to 1,880, theft from 319 to 426 and robbery cases rose from 330 to 547 during January-November compared to 11 months in accordance with 2020.
