Melbourne: Rohan Bopanna India and her Croatian partner from Jurak Schreiber made the exit of the first round of a double-open double tennis event after losing to Andrey Golubev Kazakhstan and Lyudmyla Kichenok here on Saturday.
Duo Bopanna-Schreiber lost 6-1, 4-6, 9-11 in one hour and three minutes.
Bopanna and Schrieber came out with intention and won the first set 6-1 after making a mistake that was not delayed while converting two of the three breakpoints.
However, Golubev-Kichenok returned strong and led 4-2 in the second set.
Bopanna and Schrieber were broken three times in the second set by dripping India serving for the first time to admit Tin 2-4.
Bopanna and Schrieber bagged the next two matches but Golubev and Kichenok took a 6-4 set, took the match to Super Tibreak.
Bopanna and Schrieber took 9-6 in decider but Golubev and Kichenok sealed him for them after saving three match points and changing themselves.
