SARARAM: The local court on Friday gave a capital sentence to someone for the rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl in Rohta district on November 14, 2020.
The Poso Niraj Court Niraj Bihari Lal also asked the state government to pay RS8 Lakh as compensation for the parents of the deceased Under the provision of compensation schemes for women survivors from Sexual Assault Crime 2019.
Overall 11 witnesses were examined in this case.
Sources said the defendant, Balaram Singh under the Dalmia Nagar police station, had brought the neighbor’s girl to her home with the pretext of showing her statue of Lord Ganesh and Dewi Laxmi and raped him.
When he was afraid of being caught, Singh killed him brutally and hid his semi-dressed body in a box.
When the girl did not go home, her family member was suspicious and looked for Singh’s residence where the body was found in the box.
Singh was arrested and the police handed over Chargesheet against him in February this year.
At the request of the District Administration, the court conducted a quick trial from this case and held Singh guilty.
The court described it as a “rare” case and gave him a capital sentence and a fine of RS50,000.
