Bengaluru: Indian Under-19 forces on Friday get some “invaluable lessons” from Rohit Sharma at the National Cricket Academy where the senior football soccer skipper was undergoing rehabilitation of injury with Ravindra Jadeja.
Rohit, which has been ruled out from the series of tests to come in South Africa due to a hamstring injury, giving Pep talking to U-19 boys in front of the Asian Cup starting December 23 in the UAE.
Rohit and Jadeja were seen at NCA with India U-19 Yash Dhull captain at his social media post.
BCCI also tweeted the image of the Rohit session with the squad.
Rohit himself played at the Under-19 level in 2006.
“Teamindia White-Ball Captain @ IMRO45 made the most of the rehabilitation time when he discussed the U19 Indian team during their preparation camp at NCA in Bengaluru,” BCCI wrote.
Rohit, named Captain Odi last week replacing Virat Kohli, was to travel to South Africa as the deputy captain of the test team for the series starting on December 26 before the injury put it aside from the red ball foot from the tour.
The expected recovery time is between three and four weeks.
Captain ‘A’ Captain Priyank Panchal was named as a substitute for Rohit in a test force, which reached South Africa on Thursday for the series.
Senior appetizer, who took over as captain of the T20i against New Zealand last month, is expected to be available to lead the team for the South African tour tour, which will take place in January.
Jadeja has been ruled out from a tour of South Africa due to a knee injury he used during the New Zealand test series at home last month.
He may take longer to recover from his injury.
