BELAGUGIVI: Water sports operators and homestay owners and resorts in Dandeli’s plan to put pressure on Anand Singh tourism ministers to make the government allow river rafting.
They said the ban affected their livelihood.
The government, during the second wave of Covid-19, has banned water sports activities as a precautionary measure.
Although the Covid-19 case has fallen, the government has not given permission to this operator to continue the business.
The operator said while the pool has been opened to the public, although with several riders, a prolonged government ban on water sports activities in Dandeli against logic.
Dandeli is the only place in Karnataka which offers white water rafting facilities and people flock here from Bengaluru and other parts of the country for fun and entertainment.

Rahul Bavaji, owner of the homestay, told Ti Meeting among stakeholders held on Sunday and it was resolved to meet Singh and asked him to make the government signal green to continue activities.
Bavaji stressed that because the closure had no guests even on weekends and had become a big blow to people who depend on the income of Homestay.

Chand Kutti, a water sports operator, said, “About 700 workers depend on water sports activities, and now we have no money to pay their salaries.
