Nashik: The number of cases of dengue fever in North Maharashtra has experienced a significant increase this year.
In accordance with the data provided by the State Ministry of Health, five districts in the region reported 614 cases of dengue fever in 2020, while this year, until October 31, 1,699 cases have been reported.
There has been one death related dengue in this region – in the Ahmednagar countryside – so far.
Forbid Jalgaon District, four remaining districts – Nashik, Dhule, Ahmednagar and Nandurbar – have registered a significant increase in dengue cases.
The city of Nashik and rural areas are affected.
Nashik City has recorded 997 cases until 31 October this year, a sharp increase of 337 reported in 2020.
In Nashik rural, there were 239 cases until October 31, last year, there were 62 cases.
“Even Ahmednagar registered the number of cases that were significantly higher this year (148) compared to only seven years ago.
While Ahmednagar City has zero cases of dengue fever last year, this year until October 31, there are 55 cases and one death,” said officials health.
Nandurbar and Dhule each have 138 and 140 cases this year.
Last year, Nandurbar only had eight cases while Dhule had 62 cases.
“Jalgaon is the only district in the area where cases of dengue fever declined – from 135 years ago to 35 so far in 2021.
In fact, Jalgaon City and Rural Jalgaon did not register one case in October,” Health Officials said.
The state health authority emphasized the need for civil bodies and agencies to ensure that there was no reason for the breeding of mosquitoes, the corporate medical supervisor of Municipal Nashik, Dr.
Bapalanj Nagargoje, said cases in Nashik City gradually declined.
