Kolkata: With a civilian poll in a city less than a week, the Special Task Force (STF) Kolkata has confiscated a one-crore hospital from a man and arrested him in the downtown area of Park, a force official said on Tuesday.
Acting on the input, STF Sohuth triggered a 27-year-old man, identified as a resident of Maheshtala in the southwest of the city, in front of the Church of God and won money from him.
The man could not provide a reasonable explanation to have the number of his person, a police officer said.
“The money is in a denomination note of Rs 2,000, except 20 sheets of Rs 500 NOT (RS 10,000),” he said.
The man was arrested and taken to the Park Street police station where a case had been registered with him because of theft, officially more.
Civil polls in the city will be held on December 19.
