Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Wednesday announced a 10,000 crore Rs package for farmers affected by heavy rain and flooding in the state.
Maharashtra Head of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Minister of Chief Ajit Pawar and PwD Minister Ashok Chavan made an announcement in a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
“Agricultural crops are more than 55 lakh hectares of agricultural land damaged due to heavy rainfall from June to October in this country.
Therefore, the Country Cabinet has announced financial assistance of 10,000 crore rs to farmers who are influenced by natural disasters,” said government.
