To develop its infrastructure, the Civic body will take advantage of RS 131 Crore this year to ensure more breathable air, clean in the city.
The push towards it began by introducing electronic vehicles to remove pollution, and the construction of dust-free roads among many other plans.
Until now, the Ministry of Environment of the Union (MOEFCC) has issued RS 10 Crore funds in this direction below the National Clean Air Program (NCAP).
As part of other air action plans, SMC will also focus on emission control in the construction and burning activities of biomass, monitoring air quality surrounding, industrial pollution control and creating awareness.
The ministry has agreed to a total of National 2,200 Crore Rs under the 15th Finance Commission for NCAP.
Of this number, City Diamond got Rs 131 Crore.
“SMC has planned various initiatives such as the rebuilding of the lake garden that will contribute deeply to improving regional air quality.
Furthermore, we create infrastructure for electronic vehicles and gradually reduce the use of traditional fuel vehicles,” said Banchhanidhi Pani, Commissioner of the city of the city.
Of the total 150 e-buses ordered, SMC has received 37.
The rest will be sent in December.
