Guwahati: Industrial agencies in the northeast have praised the union budget to set 1,500 crore rs for development initiatives, which they say will enable livelihood activities for young people and women in the region.
The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has mentioned the budget that was very centered on the growth they felt every industry needed in the middle of a pandemic and to achieve the rapid recovery of their respective businesses.
“The initiative of the development of PM for the Northeast, PM-Devine, will be executed through the North East Council,” said MK Saharia, Chair, the ICC regional committee.
Because nearly 99% of all companies in the northeast are under the category of MSMEs now, Abhijit Barooh, Chair, India Industrial Confederation (CII), northeast, hopes that the budget will provide encouragement to MSMEs.
