Hyderabad: The Congress of Telangana Revanth Reddy said on Tuesday that the Congress has signed an agreement with the Insurance Company (New India Assurance Company) to expand RS 2 Lakh Insulated Insurance for all party members in the state.
“Everyone who has become a member and those who register as part of the driver’s digital membership drive will get insurance cover RS 2 Lakh from 1 April 2022, until March 31, 2023.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee is the first PCC in the country to expand insurance for all Party members, “said Revanth.
Digital Membership Drive, which was launched on December 9, 2021, on the anniversary of the Congress of President Sonia Gandhi and a birthday announcement of Telangana’s formation, has raised a good response from the people.
Like opposing the target of 30 Lakh membership, more than seven Lakh members have been registered.
The TPCC chairman said the registrant was appointed for all 34,765 polling booths in Telangana and at least 100 members would be registered from each polling room.
The membership drive is being supervised by leader AICC Praveen Chakravarty at the national level and by Harkara Venugopal and Deepak John in Telangana.
Even senior leaders have registered new members.
For example, former Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir has registered 400 members and former Minister G Chinna Reddy has registered 20,000 members.
Revanth has set a target of registering at least 15,000 members in each mandal, 50,000 in assembly constituencies and 3.5 Lakh members in a parliamentary election.
