RS 2,500-cr medicine case: Gujarat ATS NABS MAN

Ahmedabad: A man allegedly involved in smuggling 530 kg Heroin is worth around RS 2,500 Crore to the country through the sea route from Pakistan on a different occasion captured by Gujarat ATS at Delhi airport on Thursday, officials said.
Shahid Kasam Sumra (35), a resident of Mandvi in ​​Kutch Regency, was also allegedly involved in “Narco-Terrorism”, when he funded terror activities with money obtained from illegal drug trafficking, they said.

Four cases were submitted against it between 2018 and 2021 in Gujarat and Punjab, after the 530 kg heroin seizure was worth around Rs 2,500 Crore during the period from various states.
The National Investigation Agency (Nia) has taken over the probe into three cases, while one case with Gujarat ATS.
According to the release, ATS recently learned that Sumra was also involved in “Narco-Terrorism” when he gave money, obtained through illegal drug trafficking, to those involved in terror activities.
He was running around and hiding in a variety of Gulf and African countries since his first name arose when ATS confiscated 5 kg of ‘Pakistan-origin’ from Salaya from the Devbhoomi Devbhoomi district in August 2018.
The probe was later revealed that Sumra and other defendants have smuggled a total of 500 Kg Heroin More than Rs 2,300 Crore from Pakistan via the sea route and lowered the consignment in Gujarat’s Mandvi Coast in August 2018.
Then, Sumra and his aides sent Oly’s Owned Goods to Punjab in the truck, said ATS.
They sent 300 kg of drugs in three trips to Punjab on the order of Simranjit Singh Sandhu, who was recently held by Interpol in Italy, said his broadcast.
After some time, Sumra colleagues carry 200 kg of heroin to Sandhu’s contact in Amritsar in Punjab, he said.
From this consignment, Punjab STF seized 188 kg and 5 kg of contraband goods in separate operations, ATS said, adding that Nia is now investigating these cases, and Sumra is also desirable in this relationship.
In April this year, ATS and Indian coastal guards intercepted a boat near Gujarat Coast and arrested eight Pakistani citizens with 30 kg of heroin worth around Rs 150 Crore.
Then it was revealed that the defendant planned to smuggle the drug to Gujarat at Sumra’s orders, ATS said.
