Coimbatore: The thief is confusing to RS 3.1 Lakh from a used metal trader shop in Podanur on Saturday by drilling a hole in the general wall between the shop and furniture store.
Gunasekar, 46, from Podanur, the owner of Manoj Metal Mart near the Auditorium KSG, has locked the shop After completing the business on Friday at around 9:30 a.m.
He has kept Rs 3.1 lakh in the desk drawer.
He opened the shop on Saturday morning to find a hole in the wall and open drawer.
“Thieves enter the adjacent furniture shop by unlocking and drilling holes on a metal shop.
The thieves also took the digital video recorder of the CCTV system,” said a police officer.
Police Podanur had ordered cases under 380 and 457 of the Indian criminal code and formed a special team to catch thieves.
