Mumbai: The Maharashtra government gives sanctions RS 365 Crore as aid to farmers who have reported plant losses due to flooding in the state in July.
Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation Vijay Wadettiwar said that farmers reported plant losses due to excessive rainfall in July and he had directed the administration to ensure that financial assistance must achieve the earliest.
Of the total RS 365.67 Crore, RS 150 Crore was approved for the Pune Division, Rs 118 Crore for the Amravati Division, Rs 77 Crore for the Aurangabad Division and RS 8 Crore for the Conkan Division.
Officials said that in the rainy season, Maharashtra had seen large-scale losses.
More than 430 people lost their lives and losses have been reported in more than 40 hectares of land.
The state government has also been seeking financial assistance from the center and has not heard proposals.
The inter-ministerial experts are on touring countries affected by the country earlier this week.
The team visited Raigad District, Chiplun City and the parts of Maharashtra Barat who were very affected.
