Rs 4 Lakh-House in two months for flooded homeless people, said Goa CM Pramod Sawant

PANAJI: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that the houses flattened in the flood will be reconstructed with the 4th RS budget.
While the state government will provide RS 2 Lakh, Rotary International will contribute to Rs 2 Lakh for the same thing, he said.
Sawant said that 93 houses will be reconstructed as part of this assistance program.
He added that the contractor would design a house that could be built within two months with the cost of Rs 4 Lakh.
The contractor will share designs with people, Sawant says during the function held to transfer electronic funds from compensation to those affected by flooding.
About 5,000 houses were damaged in the flood last month, the Head of the Minister said, adding that a separate team had been formed to investigate the reason.
Sawant said that after rating the damage at home, three types of loss were identified.
Those whose homes are damaged will get Rs 50,000 or Rs 1 Lakh to take repair work.
Sawant said that those who have not been called for their functions will get their checks at each Taluka head office.
The minister’s chairman said that the state government would take all the necessary steps to avoid such disasters in the future.
He urged anyone who has not utilized the help of the state government, to approach authority because the state government does not want to eliminate anyone.
Sawant said that they had approached the union government to get funds to provide assistance to people whose agricultural activities were very affected.
