Jammu: The Joint Team of the Army and J & K police conducted a search in Surankote Town in the Poonch J & K district on Saturday and recovered cash 40 lakh cash, 1.27kg gold, more than 1 kg of silver ornaments other than 60 cellphones, cameras and goods valuable.
Items taken allegedly become stolen properties.
“A team with the army and the police were carrying out routine patrol tasks when they received input on suspicious movements in three houses in the city of Surankote.
Based on this information, the search warrant was obtained from the executive judge and a raid conducted,” said a police spokesman on Saturday .
The search was made in the houses belonging to Jameela Begum, Shanaz Akhter and Rashida Begum from Surankote Town.
Investigations have been launched and the police tried to find a large number of cash and other valuables.
