Mangaluru: Gram Panchayat in Dakshina Kannada District has announced the RS 500 gift to those who share information about people who throw garbage in public places.
Kuppepadavu Gram Panchayat, about 30 km from Mangaluru City, has decided to also force a fine of Rs 1,000 for those who dispose of garbage on the roadside and other public places.
Those who share pictures or videos of people who throw garbage will be given Rs 500 as a gift.
The GP initiative has produced results within a week that is almost half a dozen black spots in the village, where ordinary people throw garbage indiscriminately, now clean.
