RS 9,725 Crore is spent so far on vaccination drive

New Delhi: The total around RS 9,725 Crore has been spent so far on the Covid-19 vaccination program including the procurement of vaccines and operational costs for vaccination, the government told parliament on Friday.
It was also maintained that there was no delay in the procurement of Jabs and that the target of giving 135 crore doses between August and December was on track, Health Minister Junior Bharti Pravin Pawar, in response to questions from Rahul Gandhi and TMC Mala Roy and TMC.
“Between August 2021 to December 2021, a total of 135 crore doses from the Covid-19 vaccine are expected to be available.
There is no delay entering the purchase agreement with domestic vaccine producers.
Advances payment has also been made for manufacturers for orders for offers that are placed with them,” said Pawar , Underpointing that there is no fixed timeline for settlement of drive vaccination, the minister states that it is expected that all recipients aged 18 years and above will be inoculated in December.
“Given the dynamic and evolved covid pandemic nature is expected that the beneficiary of the age of 18 years and above will be vaccinated in December 2021,” said Pawar.
More than 43.9 Crore vaccine doses have been supplied to the state and UTS so far, and the dose of lakh 71.4 further is in the pipeline, according to the Ministry of Health.
A total of 42.7 doses of lakh were given throughout the country on Friday.
