Nagpur: Pension Division Manager (DM) Corporate Forest Development Maharashtra (FDCM), Pressur Narhar Wagh, was arrested and returned to the Magisterial Custody (MCR) for alleged involvement in RS1.64-Crore Timber Scam at the Central Chanda division.
“Wagh was arrested by the Ballarshah police on January 4, and was at the police custody remand (PCR) until January 13.
He has now returned to Magisterial Prisoners (MCR) and sent to Chandrapur Prison,” said SDO Shekhar Deshmukh from the wing of economic violations.

According to Deshmukh, the action was taken on complaints submitted by the FDCM Division Manager Kusagra Pathak, Division Manager, Chanda Central, on October 18, 2021.

EOW has ordered Wagh, a resident of Jaiprakash Nagar, Nagpur, under the Section 409, 466, 471 & 34 of the IPC.
According to the document and copy of the FIR obtained by TOI, the abuse of RS 1.64 Crore was conducted at Kanhargaon, Zaran, Tohgaon and Dhaba Range of the Central Chanda division.
Wagh worked as an assistant manager and division manager from October 13, 2015 to April 2, 2018.
Fraud was carried out during 2015-16 and 2016-17.
It was revealed during the finalization of the account.
In accordance with complaints, there is a big difference in the actual production of wood, firewood and bamboo, and materials transported to the sales depot.
Because the loss was large, a detailed investigation was ordered by the General Manager of North Chanda in December 2017 and January 2018 through the Committee.
Requests found that a large number of various forest products were not transported to the sales depot that money was charged to prepare a fake voucher.
The material was sold illegally, found the committee.
From the voucher, it has also been observed that the same workers have been paid twice on the same day for two works in different places.
The committee in his report recommends that together with Wagh, forest guards and foresters are also responsible for great abuse.
FIR states that fraud is equal to RS1.64 Crore.
