Guwahati: The Federation of Indian Students (SFI) accused the office of the Chair of the Minister of Assam ‘illegally’ offered financial assistance to Vidya Bharati school teachers who were affiliated with RSS in the state known as Shankeardev Shishu Nicetans.
The leader of the SFI State Committee, while overcoming the press here on Wednesday, said that providing financial support solely to Shankardev Shishu teachers in politically motivated niketans.
“The Assam government led by BJP has taken a discriminatory attitude by providing one-time financial support of RS 5,000 of the main aid funds to teachers who work in Shankeardev Shishu Nicetans, the chain of educational institutions under Vidya Bharati, a private organization managed by RSS,” Allegedly Secretary General of the State of SFI, Nirangkush Nath.
The body of students is furnished checking to prove their charges.
Toi contacted Vidya Bharati, but no spokesman who was ready to comment on this problem.
Under the pandemic, said Nath, people from various parts of the community suffer from significant economic difficulties.
“Lockdown has an impact on teachers and staff work in private schools too.
However, the current government’s actions in providing financial support from the main aid funds solely to Shankardeva Shishu Nicetans teachers, seizing other private school teachers.
Discriminatory,” said Nath.
The SFI State Committee condemned this “bias action” and has demanded allocation of financial support once for all teachers working in private schools managed under the welfare project, also covering venture schools.
SFI collected that since the beginning of the BJP government in Assam, the state government has become a partial to Shankardev Shishu Nicetans.
“Previously, the former Minister of Education Himanta Buswa Sharma gave a financial grant to Shankardev Shishu Niketans to build infrastructure.
Repetition of similar prejudice was witnessed again,” added Nath.
SFI delegation, while meeting the Minister of Education Ronoj Pegu recently, asked if there was financial support given in the name of the Ministry of Education to a private school teacher.
Nath claimed that the Pegu told them that there was no such step taken.
