RT-PCR tests at Maharashtra Airport 50% cheaper

Mumbai: days after the state government increasingly reduces the price of RT-PCR tests in the state, the Ministry of Health has also limited the RT-PCR test rate that is quickly carried out at the airport, among other places.
According to orders issued by the Ministry of Health, the level of testing has been limited at Rs 1,975, 50% lower than Rs 3,900 charged at the current airport.
The state government also allows additional costs of Rs 200 to be taken if the Swab is collected from home.
RT-PCR that is fast using different technology which takes 15-30 minutes to provide results that are contrary to normal RT-PCR tests that take at least a day.
This test is used to filter passengers at the airport and even for emergency medical procedures or emergency trips.
“Rates have been closed after considering all factors such as the cost of raw materials, technology and so on,” said an official.
