Kolkata: When Roll 1921 Royce Silver Ghost was launched from Cotton Street in Burrabazar, making the road to Babughat on Friday, most of which stopped to make roads for large vehicles wearing flowers did not know there was a reason for the second view – this car was first owned by Rudyard Kipling before being sold to the grandfather of the current owner.
The car, with the # 6UE chassis number, was bought by Kipling after he returned to England from India.
He used a car for six years before selling it to Kumar Ganga Dhar Bagla in London in 1927.
Bagla transports it back to his plantations in Kolkata in the same year.
Since then, the car still has family ownership as part of his “Debottar” plantation founded by Grand Sire, Raja Raibahadur Say Bux Bagla, in 1884.
Estate has a number of Satyanarayan temples built throughout the country.
, including Bengal, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Rudyard kipling in the chassis car park and the engine intact, the car’s body has now been renovated into a train with a throne where the family takes the Lord Krishna to rise twice a year – once before Holi and then on the 18th day “birth” in Janmashtami, which usually falls on Bhadra.
Friday happened to be on the second day and coinciding with Vishwakarma Puja.

“The car is 100 years old this year,” said the owner of Lalit Bagla (80).
The family also has an image about how the car looks at the time of sales and where Kipling is seen in it.
Collectors and Vintage Car Regulators Shrivardhan Kanoria said Rolls Royce maintained the names of owners against the chassis number in his notes.
“This is a Limousine Hooper.
Rolls make chassis, machinery and dashboard and then collaborate with body makers such as Hooper,” Kanoria said, the founders of the Eastern India Motoring Group, a city-based vintage car owner group.
