After postponing the ‘Chehre’ release date several times in the past, the maker finally focused on August 27 this year as the release date.
When the film prepared for the release of the theater next week, Etimes rose with Rumy Jafry’s director who exclusively opened the story behind the film, the unusual Amitabh Bachchan pair, and more.

‘Chehre’ finally released in theaters.
How does it feel? I am quite excited.
The film was supposed to be released last year.
We have waited a long time to let go in the cinema.
But hopefully, we will do it soon.
Right since we arranged it, we have considered a reminder that this film will have a theater release.
With all the dialogs gripping, background scores, songs and everything, it will be an absolute treation for the audience to watch ‘chehre’ in theaters.
Our producer Anand Pandit and Amitabh Bachchan also from the view that we have made a film for the theater, it will be released in the cinema.
How does it work with Amitabh Bachchan? I have directed Amitabh before in ‘Lord Tussi Great Ho’.
Other films that we have become part of a shared, both ‘Miyan Chote Miyan’ or the others, are mostly in comedy or drama.
I have thought of trying my hand on several different genres.
I come from the background of the theater and want to use that experience somewhere.
I want to do something new and rediscover myself, something that will excite me and at the same time surprise my audience.
It’s easy to get stereotypes in this industry.
When you make more than two films in the same genre, they believe that this is the best you can do.
I want to solve the stereotypes around me and my job.

When I said I wanted to do something different, all the producers I met wanted me to do something on my previous works, ‘Biwi No.
1 ‘,’ Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya ‘and others.
That’s when Amitabh Bachchan Ji came out and supported my vision.
He told me if I wanted to try something new, I had to do it and he was there to support me.
Tell us about this unusual Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi couple …
after we finished Amitabh Bachchan for ‘chehre’, we started looking for other actors.
I was looking for a second tin and Emraan fits the character I imagined.
Even though I have never worked with him, I have heard a lot about him in this industry.
He really is like Amit Ji when it comes to professionalism – dedicated, hard worker and does not allow it to disturb his work.
He was very involved in the work he did.
I want someone like him.
When I approached him with ‘chehre’, he also loved his character and was happy to come.
Emraan’s work turned out to be better than I expected.
How do you look back at your trip in the film industry so far? With God’s grace, my trip so far truly extraordinary.
I know I have tried to put my best foot forward in everything I have done so far and I will continue to do the same thing, advance.
Now, with ‘chehre’, I believe my second innings have begun.
This will be a new chapter on my trip.
If this works, I will be happy to explore several new and interesting subjects in the future.
It will all be very different from my previous film.
OTT proved to be a gift for many people in the past half a year.
Do you want to explore the space in the future? Certainly! I believe people must accept and embrace all new things in life and that includes technological progress.
I would love to explore the platform someday.
I always write and make a film for a big screen but if I come with anything that fits the bill in OTT, I will definitely do it.
