Run test finds a friendly path to be disabled ‘stolen’

Mumbai: What happens when the path widens for universal accessibility? Fifteen different individuals, who conducted a trial of one stretch like that in the vile parle on Sunday, found a motorcycle parked illegally and a snack with the item on the path on the path.
Participants trials, which include sportsmen bonded wheelchairs, unanimously said space planning that can be accessed in the city will only work if they remain free encroachment.
A stretch of 400 meters from Vile Parle’s Parle’s Nehru Road was transformed with a wide path, tactile indicator, and sidewalk sloping after an activist with cerebral palsy, Jasmina Khanna, bagged by BMC.
Khanna, who organized the test on Sundays walking with his physiotherapist, Sanket Khadilkar, said they wanted to find out whether different individuals faced problems using stretching and how things could be increased for future projects.
“When it comes to accessible streets, Delhi defeats Mumbai.
The path that leads to bus-stops and friendly metro stations is friendly like most public buses.
I travel independently in public transportation for sports events in Delhi.
But in Mumbai, I can’t dream of doing the same thing, “Rahul Ramugade, the captain of the Mumbai wheelchair cricket team and trial participants.
Ramugade closed Biges shipping belonging to the pizza outlet parked throughout the trail and talking to the store manager.
“They have penetrated the footpath even though they have alternative parking arrangements.
While the staff removed the bicycle in front of us, we were not sure whether they would stay on the path permanently,” he said.
A customer at a kiosk of Paan has parked his motorcycle on the path and snacks sell merchandise.
“Hawker was partially blind and when we explained our trial purpose, he immediately agreed to move,” said the other participants.
Besides that in a wheelchair, there are ampute and individuals using crutches in the trial.
Raman’s form, which pushed her sister, Ranjan, on a path that was accessible, said the authorities of the citizenship need to improve the gap in the roll cover with a wheelchair stuck in it.
Ranjan, a musician, lives with cerebral palsy and has to travel with his own vehicle when the bus and train cannot be accessed.
Other participants suggest that the portion of the bumpy road before going up to the path must also be repaired to prevent injury to the user bound by a wheelchair.
“When you design a friendly stretch-deactivated stretch, it automatically works for any other road users, whether senior citizens, pregnant women or someone with injuries.
Through trials, we also want to be sensitive to the communities of the accessibility needs disabled.
Some pedestrians gather for Watch participants and we talk to them to create awareness about this problem, “Khadilkar said.
