Nagpur: Although new guidelines allow vaccination for breastfeeding and pregnant women, some beneficiaries of the rural part are allegedly forced to choose paid vaccinations in private hospitals in the city or take the ‘fitness certificate’ of the doctors who take care of them.
Some specialists in City have now provided stamp ‘can take vaccines’ for patients like that approaching them.
They accused that ‘ignorance’ as such among rural vaccinators will further slow down the Covid vaccination program in addition to doubts among people.
Also, doctors deploy various requests from their patients ranging from asthma problems, heart to impotence.
CEO Zilla Parishad Yogesh Kumbhejkar said if they found out certain places where the vaccination was looking for a fitness certificate, they would take action.
“There are no instructions to find a fitness certificate of all types of beneficiaries.
PHC staff should not refer beneficiaries to private hospitals.
They should do all the examinations and there are very few contra-indications,” he said.
Kumbhejkar added that the Nagpur District had fluently vaccinated with rural centers that crossed the dose of 10lakh on Tuesday.
