Rural polls stepping stone to a bigger role

Bhubaneswar: Many leaders, who have made a sign in Odisha’s politics, has a humble beginning in the election of Panchayat.
No wonder they see rural polls as the most important process of democratic institutions.
Good performance in rural polls is not only the size of the party’s popularity, but also helps create future leaders for the country, they say.
Former Former Minister of Hemananda Minister Bal Bispity has started his political career with Panchayat elections in 1967.
He is the chairman of Kirmira Pancayat Samiti in the Jharsuguda district between 1967 and 1971.
The 82-year-old leader was chosen to be the legislative Odisha assembly six times on Congress tickets.
He was also a member of Parliament from Sundargarh in 2009.

MLA Five times and MP twice was chosen as chairman of Panchayat Samiti Panchayat in Kandhamal District in 1984.
Previously, he was the president of his village Yubak Sangh.

During his time, members of the Nobility and Sarpanch village were used to elect the Chairperson of Panchayat Samiti.
