Rush in Nashik Market ahead of Christmas

Nashik: Some city markets – especially on college roads and in Jalan Nashik – have witnessed a significant rush in front of Christmas and New Year.
With Christmas in the corner, decorative lights, lanterns and Christmas trees have been installed at home, churches and shops.
Members of the Christian community are preparing for celebrations.
Christmas Merchandise, including artificial Christmas trees, decorative lights, soft toys Santa Claus, Santa Caps, Bells, Christmas trinkets and other Christmas ornaments have flooded shops, because shop owners expect a better sales season.
“Last year because of the Covid outbreak, shop owners only store certain items for the season because many do not spend these items due to covid-related diseases, the death of family members who are not profitable and also financial problems.
But now the situation has improved,” said Aniket Sathe, a shopkeeper in Nashik Road.
With almost no limits, some Covid cases and better vaccination coverage in this district, people have been confident to celebrate the festival safely and therefore more people go to the market to buy goods, even when public meetings are not allowed.
“This year’s celebration will be with family, especially because the public event is still not permitted.
We will not miss the opportunity to celebrate Christmas this year.
We have our relatives down from Dubai for this season,” said Sophia Augustine, a resident of Nashik Road.
“The Christian community will celebrate this year’s festival on a large scale.
The business is almost the same as when pre-covid.
This sales is much higher than last year when people are hardly out and there are strict restrictions on the people’s movement,” Hitesh Patel, said a person Fabric trader.
