Russia Prez Putin, to attend the UNC meeting managed by Modi PM

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin is one of several world leaders who will participate in the UN Security Council Meeting (UNSC) on maritime security carried out at the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
Prime Minister Modi will lead a meeting held under the Indian presidency.
Last year, the Russian president had been for the first time participating in a UN event in video format – on September 22, his speech record was aired during the UN General Assembly along with other leader speeches, Tass reported.
Other students expected to participate in the tomorrow’s day that will be held through video conferencing is Niger President Mohamed Bazoum, President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

PM Modi will lead high-level open debates about ‘improving maritime security – cases for international cooperation on August 9 at UNSC, the External Ministry (MEA) said on Sundays.
MEA’s statement said that the meeting, through video conferencing scheduled at 5:30 a.m., would focus on ways to effectively fight maritime crime and insecurity and strengthen coordination in the maritime domain.
PM Modi will be the first Indian Prime Minister to lead the UN Security Council that opened the debate, the statement added.
It is expected to be attended by several heads of state and government of Unsc member countries, and high-level sacrifices of the UN system and major regional organizations.
The UN Security Council has discussed and provides resolutions on various aspects of maritime security and maritime crime.
However, this will be the first time maritime security will be discussed holistically as an exclusive agenda item in high-level open debates.
“Given that no country can overcome various aspects of maritime security, it is important to consider this subject in a holistic way in the UN Security Council.
Comprehensive approach to maritime security must protect and support legitimate maritime activities and fight traditional and non-traditional threats in Maritime domain, “said Mea.
