MOSCOW: The Russian ambassador at Washington flew Sunday into the United States stating that he expected to construct”equivalent and pragmatic” ties following a US-Russia summit in Geneva aimed at reducing anxieties.
The airplane transporting ambassador Anatoly Antonov, that had been remembered in March for consultations, shot away at 9:20 a.m.
(0620 GMT) in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport to New York, in which he’ll travel to Washington, Russian news agencies reported.
“Given that the outcome of the assembly between the two presidents, I’m relying on work together with my colleagues to construct equivalent and pragmatic connections,” Antonov informed the Ria Novosti bureau, adding that he had been at an”optimistic disposition ” Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday the Moscow and Washington consented because of their ambassadors to go back, following summit talks in Geneva together with US counterpart Joe Biden.
Diplomatic relations between Moscow and Washington had broken down because Biden took office and accused the Kremlin of interfering in US elections and launch cyberattacks.
Following Biden likened Putin into some”killer”, Russia at March took the uncommon step of remembering ambassador Antonov and also said the US envoy John Sullivan into Moscow similarly should go back to Washington.
Sullivan abandoned Moscow in April, since the two nations declared a tide of tit-for-tat sanctions and expulsions of diplomats.
