Moscow: Russian Prime Minister on Monday visited the Pacific Islands claimed by Japan and said the government was considering establishing a special economic zone there.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is the far East Russian tour and Siberia this week, and the Kuril Islands is his first stop on Monday.
Mishustin visited hospitals and fish plants in Ustru, one of the four southern Kuril Islands, and told factory workers that the government was considering creating a special economic zone on the islands, where businesses and investors would be free of most taxes and job habits.
