ST.
PETERSBURG: Russia defender Mario Fernandes has been brought to the hospital with a suspected spinal injury following landing on his back in a fall Wednesday through a European Championship match against Finland.
The Brazilian-born back has been carried away on a stretcher at the 26th minute following a protracted interval of therapy on the area.
He’d jumped for a header and was not able to break his collapse since he landed on his rear.
He was sporting a yellowish support apparatus on his neck and head as he had been hauled off the area.
The Russian group stated Fernandes was suspected of getting damaged a part of the top spine and has been brought to the hospital for the examination.
The harm can add to staff issues for Russia.
Experienced left Yuri Zhirkov was ruled from the remainder of the tournament after injuring his leg at the opening 3-0 loss to Belgium on Saturday.
Defender Fyodor Kudryashov has to perform after he had been hurt in a pre-tournament friendly.
Winger Andrey Mostovoy has been substituted in the group a week after testing positive for the coronavirus.
