Patna: Organizing a party to seduce the voter now is Passé.
Cash, liquor and hand pumps are now offered by candidates to influence voters in the ongoing Panchayat elections in the state.
For example, the nomination of the district council members from Ramgarh in Kaiur, Rinki Kushwaha, and two supporters were ordered for allegedly attracting voters by offering money and liquor to them.
Police confiscated 12 cardboard liquor, 50,000 cash rs and pamphlet from Kushwaha’s election campaign vehicle from the Ramgrah Police Station area on Saturday.
Two people – Such Singh and Nitish Kumar – were also arrested.
The Mohania Sub-division police officer (SDO) Faiz Ahmad Khan said the attack was to arrest the candidate based on revelations made by the two supporters before investigators.
“Money and liquor are intended to be distributed among people for election purposes,” he said.
SDO added a police team led by Sho Ram Kalyan Singh to intercept a car near Ahiwas Village while returning from attacks on liquor smugglers in the village of use in the district.
The search in Pakeuli Village caused the arrest of one Bhuwar Yadav.
The police restored 12 cardboard liquor and cash 50,000 from the car.
The election pamphlet was also confiscated from the car used for the campaign.
Sho said firs related to violations of the code of the behavior of the model and law were prohibited from being submitted against candidates and two supporters.
Further investigation is underway, he said.
Previously, Buxar police had won the mini truck carrying a hand pump to be supplied to the Pancrayat Parari voter under the SIMRI police station on Friday.
The consignment was thought to be ordered by sitting Mukhiya Urmila’s husband Devi Saroj Tiwari for election purposes.
The vehicle and hand pump were confiscated by the police about the direction of senior officials.
The police swung in action after several residents complained that the hand pump and iron pipe had been transported in vehicles from Ara.
The vehicle was parked on the Panchayat Bhawan campus.
Dumraon Kumar Pankaj Sub-Division Officer and Police Sub-Division Shree Raj confirmed confiscation of hand pumps and goods operators.
“Further investigation is underway,” said SDO.
An investigative officer said some residents revealed to the police that the hand pump had to be supplied to the residents of Parari Panchayat ahead of the election of Pancir.
