Religious: Women’s voters will hold a trump card in the upcoming Pancrayat election in Gajapati Regency which is dominated by tribal when they exceed the number of men, said the source.
In all seven district blocks, the number of female voters is higher than men, they said.
A total of 3,93,620 rural voters will use their franchise in the district to choose 14 members of Zilla Parishad, 149 Sarpanches, the same number of members of Samiti and 1,865 members of the environment.
Voters include 2,01,022 women, 1,92,591 men and seven others, the official source said.
Of the 14 ZP members, at least seven women will be elected this time because seven seats are provided for them, they said.
In Kasinagar Block, which has 12 Panchayats, the total voter is 42,762, including 21,862 men and 20,897 men.
Similarly, in 20 Panchayats of Gumma Block, there were 56,475 voters, which included 28,796 women and 27,675 men.
At 19 Panchayats from Nuagada blocks, there were 39,298 voters, including 20,070 women and 19,228 men.
The GOHANI block with 21 Panchayats has 68,753 voters, which covers 34,414 women and 34,338 men.
Likewise in the Mohana Block, which has 39 highest panthayats, there are 91,932 voters including 47,421 women and 44,511 men.
R Aludagiri Block has 17 Panchayats with a total of 41,764 voters, which include 21,156 women and 20,608 men.
In the Kinggada Block, which has 21 Panchayats with 52,636 voters, the number of women is 27,301 and a 25.334 man.
The leaders of the main political parties have begun to seduce women’s voters because they hold a determinant in rustic polls.
