Palanpur: Constable Lok Rakshak Dal (LRD) posted with the Division Police Station Himmatagar in Sabrakantha was arrested by Bhiloda police in Aravali Regency on charges of Bootleging on Sunday night.
The police arrested LRD Constable Atul Patel while his aide, Bootlegger Mayur Damor, managed to escape leaving his multi-utility vehicle (MUV).
According to police Bhiloda, Patel runs a bootleging business with his hand damor.
“They were nabbed when they carry liquor in MUV.
It was surprising to see a policeman with Bootlegger,” said Police Inspector Bhiloda Manish Vasava.
Acting on tip-off, the police had a road corrected near Dhansur Village and examined the passing vehicle.
That’s when Patel and Damor arrived at MUV.
On police checks found Indian Foreign Liquor (IMFL) which was worth RS 46,000.
While the police Nabbed Patel, Bootlegger Mayur Damor who drove a car, managed to escape.
The case in the ban was registered in Patel, Damor and other Bootlegger Julo Katariya from Vijaynagar Taluka in Sabarkantha.
