Jaipur: Former Deputy Chief of Minister Sachin Pilot on Wednesday demanded the inclusion of Dalit in the Cabinet of State and in delayed political designation in the state.
Even though the demands have been waiting for a long time, this might be the first time the pilot has spoken openly about the need to meet them quickly.
Launching the Statue of Octo-Alloy Bhimrao Ambedkar in Chautsu near Jaipur, Pilot said that unlike BJP, who worshiped the icon for the voice of the community, Congress always worked for Dalit Welfare.
TNN discussed public meetings in Chaksu, the Congress leader considering the former Cabinet Minister, the late Bhanwar Lal Meghwal, who died of a prolonged illness in November last year.
“Mr.
Bharwar Lal Meghwal did a lot of things for the welfare of the Dalits.
After his death, the seat of a Blank Dalit Cabinet Minister in Rajasthan.
In such a situation, I hope the State Government and AICC will soon give the opportunity to the Ministry of Dalit in the place of Meghwal Ji,” Pilot said.
He added that the leaders of CPommunity Dalit and Backward will be considered for political appointments too.
Apart from the invitation, the absence of the Chief Minister of Ashok Gehlot and Head of PCC Govind Singh Dotasras was striking in the program organized by the Local Congress Mla Ved Prakash Solanki, a Dalit pilot leader.
In his speech, the pilot said these leaders were invited but they could not attend the event for different reasons.
“I know our parties and governments are involved in the development and welfare of the Dalits,” he said.
AICC Secretary Tarun Kumar, Congress MLAS Murari Lal Meena, GR Khatana, Indra Gurjar, Indra Meena, Prashant Bairwa and Amar Singh Jatav were present.
Congress leader used the opportunity to attack BJP too.
Pilot said that in the past seven years, the central government led by BJP has destroyed the country’s economy, with unemployment reaching peaks and historic inflation such as gasoline, diesel and LPG cylinders become expensive.
“Those who have never seen Ambedkar and Sardar Patel, have begun to worship them because of your voice.
They are impressionists who can worship anyone with a voice,” said the pilot, urging people to stay away from those who give high speeches, deceive people and push violence.
Pilots said Dalit and tribal people were being exploited and criticized even in the 21st century.
“If we try to bring a developed country by dividing people, it is not possible.
The country is developing only when the entire community develops.
We must move forward by binding throughout the community,” he said.
“A lot of agitation takes place, many parties are formed and many posts are occupied in the name of Ambedkar, but nothing happens only by winning the election and occupying the office.
We need to make a decision as well as the welfare of Dalit,” he said.
