New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greatly condemned the attack on Assam rifle convoys in Manipur and said that their sacrifice would never be forgotten.
“Very condemning the attack on Assam’s rifle convoy in Manipur.
I pay homage to the soldiers and family members who have been martyrdom today.
Their sacrifice will never be forgotten,” wrote PM Twitter.
“My mind with families who grieve in this sadness,” he said.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed sadness over the convoy attack and confirmed that the perpetrators would be taken to court soon.
“A coward attack on Assam’s rifle convoy at Churachandpur, Manipur was very painful and punished.
The nation has lost five brave soldiers including CO 46 AR and two family members.
My condolences to the grieving family,” said Rajnath.
Komandan Colonel Viplav Tripathi of 46 Assam Rifles, his wife and son and four paramilitary forces personnel on Saturday were killed after terrorists ambushed their convoys in the Churachandpur Manipur district.

Condemn the ‘coward attack’, Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh said, “State forces & military are already in their work to track militants.
The perpetrators will be taken to court.”
