Sad leaders marched to the Punjab CM home detained

Chandigarh: Police Mohali on Wednesday held Shiromani Akali Dal (Sad) Sukhbir Singh Badal and other party leaders while they marched towards the residence of the minister’s chairman in Chandigarh to protest the price decline in various street projects under the Bharat Mala project.
Hundreds of Akali workers gathered at Gurdwara Ab Sahib in Mohali from where they began the march to the residence of the minister’s head on the tractor and on foot.
The protest march was stopped near the border with Chandigarh, where sad workers with the leaders of the Sangharsh Road committee, who had pioneered agitation for fair compensation to farmers, held Dharna before arrest.
Sukhbir said the Congress government had striked demand for fair compensation of more than two lakh farmers whose land consisted of 25,000 hectares acquired in 19 districts in the state.
He said farmers were changing by the Government of Congress who gave them awards starting from Rs 30 Lakh to Rs 70 Lakh each for rural and urban land, when they had to get awards from Rs 2 Crore to Rs 3 Crore per Acre.
In addition to the acquisition of 25,000 hectares, 75,000 hectares are considered useless to become small bags left without access and irrigation facilities, the sad president said.
He also revealed that more than 3,000 houses would be destroyed and 100 village pools were gone.
He said one crore tree would be cut down under the project and hundreds of factories, even poultry farms, brick kilns and dairy farms will be revoked.
Sukhbir also said that farmers will also lose water sources and TubeWells, declaring a sad-led government that once not only provided a fair crores compensation per acre to farmers but also a free tubwell and facilities to get further land registration that was free of charge.
He convinced fair compensation farmers so sad to form a government in Punjab.
Senior Prem Prem Singh Chandumajra said it was unfortunate that road projects that emerged under the Bharat Mala project were intended to facilitate the movement of corporate goods by cutting the distance between major cities but to farmers whose land was obtained for peanuts.
