Nagpur: The doctor at Kingsway Hospital claimed recently conducting the first Sentinel Sentine Sentine biopsy (SNLB) from Central India.
All complications of breast conservation operations are avoided in a technical sophisticated process.
Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the most common cause for cancer-related deaths among women worldwide.
Treatment modalities for breast cancer are the elimination of all breast conservation or breast operations.
In the conventional conservation operation method, axillary lymph node (located under the armpit) was dissected.
Because of this, many women suffer from a decrease in sensation on the back of the arm or armpit, tingling, numbness, rigidity, weakness, or lymphedema (arm swelling).
The SNLB process helps avoid the problem.
“In the early stages of cancer, SNLB helps estimate the risk.
If the node node is negative for cancer, a patient may be able to avoid wider lymph node operations.
This reduces further complications, if many lymph nodes are removed,” said the surgical oncologist Dr.
Nitin Bomanwar.
According to Bomanwar, sophisticated machines and skills are needed for this type of operation, which is now available in Nagpur.
“In certain cases where we do surgery, the lymph nodes are negative sentinel for malignancy.
So breast conservation operations are carried out and the dissection of axillary lymph node is avoided.
Patients have no complications of axillary and dismissed on the third day,” he added.
The Indocyanine Green (ICG) fluorescence imaging method is used for this operation, which is a standard practice in advanced surgical oncology in Western countries.
Assistant Surgeon Dr.
Fahad Mulla, Anesthetic Team, Staff Theater Operations and Kingsway Hospital Technicians conducted the process.
