Safety Audit All Gurugram Buildings with Structural Damage: Manohar Lal Khattar

Gurugram: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday direct the City Government and State Government (DTCP) to identify all housing buildings where RWA reported structural damage and started a safety audit.
The move took part in the protest at Chintels Paradiso, where the collapse of the vertical living room of five flats from the sixth floor in one of the towers on February 10 caused the deaths of two residents, and anger among residents of several other condos that had demanded their complex structural audit.
Residents of several other condominiums have accused the past complaints on the quality of construction have been ignored by the authorities.
Khattar said he had learned that several other group housing communities around Chintel Paradiso had also shown signs of structural damage at the initial stage.
“Therefore, the DTCP has been directed at identifying such buildings based on complaints received from any Rwas or agency,” he said, adding that the costs for the audit will be borne by the developer, not residents, from this building.
CM also said all families with homes in the tower that were exposed to from Paradiso would be given temporary accommodation.
“Directions have also been given to get a structural audit of affected towers carried out by one of the other IITs or other well-known government institutions to detect deficiencies in design or workmanship during construction,” he said, adding that the government is committed to taking strict action against guilt remembering The seriousness of the incident.
DTCP has written to IIT-Delhi for structural audits.
CM also said the government has now decided on the principle of which other than the structural engineers appointed by the developer, the DTCP will carry out its own structural analysis of housing buildings with the help of government agencies or empalanel engineers before providing work certificates (OC).
The process of giving OCS, final documents issued for developers after all licensing conditions is fulfilled, has been under supervision after the cave in Tower D from Paradiso, sector 109 condo where Flat ownership began only five years ago in 2017.
In a short range that people have lived there, residents have repeatedly questioned the quality of condominium construction.
Chintels said last week that Paradiso was contracted “to the famous Bhayana builder after a tight thorough test process for construction”.
Following Khattar’s instructions, the DTCP has decided to prepare a list of housing projects where structural deficiency has been reported.
The next engineer will assess the building and submit a report, based on the action plan to be decided, officials said.
