Dehradun: A total of 80 foreign gentovers (FGC) Afghanistan at the Indian Military Academy has been stored under “Tight Vigil”, with those in the third term in the Academy calling back in the midst of their training in an undiscept location as soon as the Taliban confiscated Kabul’s control, the source said to TII.
At least 80 Afghan cadets are undergoing training at ima-based Dehradun.
According to sources at the Academy, Taruna is under a strict watch “for their safety” and was recalled from their training, which took place in the Uttarakhand forest, reported Shivani Azad.
“All support might be given to them,” said the source.
“Mobile phones are not provided for cadets according to the protocol.
But since the crisis, the academy has given a cellphone to every company with international call facilities for Afghan cadet to stay connected with their relatives,” said the source.
Public Relations Officers Ima LT Col Hesani Pants said foreign cadets at Ima “follow their routines”.
“The IMA authority is waiting for direction from the Ministry of Foreign and Defense,” Pant said.
Cadet, who joined the Afghan army after graduating in December, facing an uncertain future.
Of the 150 co-trained Afghan military personnel in India, the majority were in Ima followed by OTA (Chennai) and the National Defense Academy (Khaktawasla), Pune.
