Safety nets are placed on the beach of Malpe

Udupi: To prevent the public from exploring to the sea, the Malpe Beach Development Committee covers the main part of the beach with nets on Wednesday.
This size came after a 20-year-old BSC student from Kodagu, studied in Bengaluru, died after being swept by the big waves.
He had visited the beach on Sunday with three of his friends, who was saved.
Sudesh Shetty, Leasholder Beach Malpe, representing the development of tourism Mantra said that the net had been drawn more than 1 km, and its height of about 5-6 feet.
Also, the red flag has been placed throughout the beach with careful banners, warning tourists by entering the sea.
“The RS 500 sentence will be applied if a tourist breaks the net and enters the sea.
Tourists are also warned through the public address system,” Sudesh said.
