DUMKA: Sahebanjang administration on Wednesday sealed the house traces of Jhakhand Jhakhand Rent Sadan in Barharwa after 18 people lost vision after undergoing cataract surgery at health facilities.
The closure was ordered by Deputy Commissioner of Ramniwas Yadav based on the report of the six member investigation committee established on October 23.
Patients who complain about the loss of vision are currently being hospitalized in Kolkata and Ranchi.
“Detailed investigations of hospitals are still ongoing.
After completion, the FIRS will be submitted to hospital administration and doctors who perform operations,” Yadav told TII.
Yadav said the initial probe found that hospitals did not have equipment and infrastructure needed to carry out cataract surgery.
Administration understands that there may be an increase in such cases because hospital management also fails to provide definite numbers Ayushman Bharat who is treated in their facilities.
The Chairman of the Minister of Hemant Soren, who made a two-day visit to Sahebanj (October 25-26) directed Yadav to take the steps needed to treat the victims and appropriate actions against private hospitals.
