New Delhi: Tokyo Olympian Nethra Kodan has won gold in a radial laser event from the Gran Canaria sailing championship, one of the European Regional Open events, in Spain.
The 24-year-old kuman was finished in three of the six races to collect 10 net points at the ILCA 6 at Gran Canaria last week.
Lancho and Martina Reino Cacho’s body – both Spanish – each is the second and third.
Indian sports authorities congratulated to the victory.
“Sailor @nettienetty won gold on a radial laser at Gran Canaria Sailing Championships (European Regional Open Event),” Sai said in a tweet.
“He won 3 races & finished 3 and 4 in a break of two races.
This competition has 20 participants from 3 countries including 3 Olympians.” Kumanan has completed 35 of 44 competitors in the Radial Laser class in the debut Olympics in Tokyo earlier this year.
