New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Saturday states that City Walk Select, DLF Avenue Saket and MGF Malls in the Saket area, atmosphere, DLF Promenade, and DLF Emporia Malls in Vasant visits as ‘free plastic use’ on the occasion of the day Free of international plastic bags.
“SDMC has declared a city, DLF Avenue Saket, MGF Saket, the atmosphere of Vasant Kunj, DLF PROMENADE VASANT KUNJ, and free DLF emporia mall from single plastic use,” SDMC said at Facebook post.
Single use plastic is intended to be discarded immediately after use, such as bags, drinking straws, bottles and packaging.
SDMC, earlier on Thursday, said that it would declare 20 markets as free plastic free of jurisdiction.
The decision was taken during the first meeting of the ‘city level task unit “in the rules of plastic waste management, 2016 and removing single plastic (support), held under the leadership of the SDMC commissioner.’ Forced city tasks were formed by SDMC on June 18, 2021.
