Salem: Salem Regency Crime Branch (DCB) on Saturday arrested a man, who was the accomplice of the former Chairman of the Minister of Education Edappadi K Political Political Assistant, for allegedly taking 17 lakh as bribes from other men for job offers.
The defendant has been identified as K Selvakumar, 45, from Kadayampatty.
He was a close friend of G Mani aka Nadupatty Mani, 50, who served as political PA for the former Head of Education Edappadi K Palanisami for more than 10 years.
G Tamilselvan, 29, from Neyveli in the Cuddalore district promised by Selvakumar and Mani that he will be given an assistant engineer work in the Transport Corporation Tamil Nadu and receive 17 lakh as bribes from Tamilselvan.
Tamillelvan claims that he was not given a job offer as promised.
After this, he demanded that semen and Selvakumar return the money.
But the duo only returned 4 lakh to Tamilselvan.
They were also suspected of threatening Tamilselvan.
He filed a petition with Salem DCB on October 24, 2021, and demanded action against the duo.
