Gorakhpur: A seller who works at a liquor store in Ramgarh Tal in the city allegedly beaten to death by a group of men after he refused to give them a liquor on Thursday night.
The police have initiated an investigation and registered a murder case against the defendant, identified as a brother of the History-Sheereter Pankaj Rai, and 14-15 other unknown people.
After the incident, the SSP moved the circle officer and attach the inspector responsible for the local police station to the police line.
Pankaj Rai is a former president of the Union of DAV DAV Holds College.
Criminal cases against them have been registered in several district police offices.

As a police officer, the incident occurred after the victim Manish Prajapati (25) asked for payment of four people who came to the model shop in the Vihar budget area below the limits of the Ramgarh Tal police station.

They refused to pay while one of them said that he was a brother of the History-Sheeter Pankaj Rai and left.
However, they returned together with 14-15 more people and began beating Prajapati.
In the midst of the incident, another waiter Ram Nath Yadav, aka Raghu, a native Bahraich, was also beaten by the same people when he tried to stop fighting.
Both of them rushed to the hospital, where Manish died during treatment on Thursday night, while Raghu who was seriously injured was undergoing treatment at Medical College.
The condition is declared harmless.
