Ranchi: Salima Tete and Nikki Pradhan were given a welcome of the hero by the state government of their enthusiasm on behalf of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team at the Tokyo Olympics who had recently concluded.
Simdega Girl Salima and Khunti Girl Nikki was welcomed at Birsa Munda International Airport by a group of admirers, journalists, officials of the state government, and the Minister of Sports Hafizul Hassan after they touched in the afternoon in commercial flights arriving from New Delhi.
Under the Excessive Sky, the duo walked into two open jeeps, which was decorated with interest and headed for Jharkhand Mantrallaya, where the head of the Minister of Hemant Soren, the Minister of Social Welfare Jwa Manjhi and senior bureaucrat batteries were waiting for them.
“This is a proud moment for us.
Even though we struggled hard, we missed a bronze medal to England.
We as a team will try to bring home a medal at the next Olympics,” said Salima in a short interaction with journalists from above the jeep.
In Jharkhand Mantalaya, Soren handed over an examination of duo each for 50 lakh Rs, the key to scooters, smart phones and laptops.
“Even though you lose medals, your spirit shows against superpower hockey in the grandest stage of them are all no less than the settlement of the podium,” said Soren with awards.
While their parents occupied the front row in the auditorium, Salima and Nikki remained humble as before when they took Dais, along with CM.
“We want you to do it well and become inspiration for thousands of beginner talents in the state,” said Soren.
Deepika Kumari, who is also part of the Olympic contingent of Jharkhand, not part of the ceremony.
“Deepika also participated but we could not have it here,” CM said.
Put the vision of his government for sports development, Soren said the plan was formed to establish eight housing hockey centers, 12 football centers, seven archery centers, six athletic centers and one volleyball and one Badminton center in the next few months to provide a conducive training atmosphere for talent State sports.
