Ahmedabad: A 27-year-old satellite resident, who runs the salon in South Bopal, and his aide has been arrested for running a drug racket.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Ahmedabad Rural Police on Monday held two and presented a narcotics and psychotropic substances worth RS 3.52 lakh from their ownership.
Police confirmed that Vandit Patel, who runs Rexon Salon and Nails, was arrested with 300 GM Hybrid Marijuana, 501 GM from Charas American, 221 GM Charas Balls, 224 GM Magic Mushrooms, and 43 grams of Pancur.
Patel’s trip to the drug world began when he began taking medicine in 2012 and met various suppliers in the city.
Then, in 2016, he went to Singapore to study the Diploma in tourism in Singapore where he also consumed drugs and met various international suppliers.
In 2018, he returned to the city and opened his salon in South Bopal.
“To get more money, he decided to sell drugs and contact the international drug mafia.
He began to get drugs through air cargo since 2019,” said a police officer.
For payment, it is used to contact dealers and agents of various Crypto Currency providers.
Patel is used to provide cash and dealers or send them through anggadias.
The agent used to give him ID and password for the Crypto payment that he gave to the dealer.
According to police officers, Patel brought drugs worth Rs 1-2 lakh through air cargo but the consensinya was never arrested at the airport.
“Patel claimed that he used to smuggle medicines in household articles such as microwaves wrapped in certain paper which would hamper material screening inside,” said a police officer.
Police officers believe that Patel used to supply drugs to various regions in the western part of the city and also in other cities such as letters.
He has six helpers who work as suppliers and police have tried to capture the suppliers too.
Police ordered Patel and Aide Parth Sharma, 32, residents of Vejalpur, under the Law and NDPS investigation on.
